Introduction to Hailey Cain

Hello, my name is Hailey. I am twenty-three years old and a recent graduate of Linn-Benton Community College. I am also married and about to begin the journey of motherhood for the first time. I am currently 35 weeks pregnant and I am having a baby girl.

I grew up in Southern California and only moved to the Willamette Valley a few years ago to attend school. While I have an amazing support network of family and friends here in Oregon, it has been a learning experience navigating pregnancy so far from home.

Pregnancy is both exciting and overwhelming. It is my hope to share stories of my experiences with you as I am nearing the end of my pregnancy and transitioning into life as a new mother.

At this point in my pregnancy, I am in the process of taking prenatal classes through Samaritan hospitals, including child birthing classes, a breastfeeding class, a newborn class and meeting with a maternity care coordinator. I plan on sharing my thoughts and experiences with these classes in my upcoming bi-weekly blog posts during the month of March.

Some fun facts about me:

• I love crafts! Right now I’m really into crochet, but I love all crafts.
• I have five pets; three cats and two dogs. 
• I am a novice, but ambitious gardener.
• Cooking is probably my favorite hobby. I have a huge sweet tooth and l love to bake and prepare meals for my family.
