Managing Meltdowns for Young Parents

This two-part parenting workshop will use the work of Dr. Mona Delahooke’s “Brain Body Parenting” to help us understand what is happening in our child’s brain and body during overwhelming emotions. We will then explore how to check in with ourselves and practice ways to calm our children and ourselves in the moment through co-regulation and build our children’s emotional resilience.

This class is for teenage and young parents up to age 24 who reside in Linn and Benton Counties and have children ages 0-6 years.

The class meets from 5:30-7:30 pm on  May 13 & 27, 2025, at the Young Roots Oregon Family Hub (Periwinkle Plaza, 1630 SE 9th Ave, Albany).

Free on-site child care and dinner are provided.

Young Roots Oregon is a culturally specific organization for teen parents through age 24, but if a partner/co-parent is older than 24 years old, they may attend courses and events as we believe in empowering the family unit as a whole.
