OHSU Understanding Your Newborn (Self-guided eClass)
This online course teaches the basics of baby care and helps families plan for life with a newborn. Using videos, animations, stories, activities, and games, it shows how to handle bathing, diapering, swaddling, tummy time, and playing with a baby. Participants learn about newborn appearance and behaviors, as well as safe sleep and soothing techniques.
This class is for pregnant parents, partners, and anyone who has already had their baby. It is perfect for busy people who cannot make it to a live class. Parents should sign up during their fourth month of pregnancy and take the class after their fifth month.
The self-guided eClass takes about 2-3 hours to complete and includes seven months of online access. Materials are available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin, German, French, Arabic, and Japanese.
The fee is $95, which covers two participants.
To register, visit the OHSU Class Registration Page to log in or create a new account. Once the registration form and payment are completed, enrollment is official. Log-in instructions will be emailed within three days.
