OHSU Understanding Breastfeeding (Self-guided eClass)
This online course teaches the basics of breastfeeding or chestfeeding. Using videos, animations, stories, activities, and games, it shows how to latch, position, and care for the breasts. Participants learn how breastfeeding works, how to read their baby’s cues, when to feed, how to ensure the baby gets enough milk, and how to handle common problems. The course also gives practical tips for partners, real-life video examples, advice on when to see a professional, and a feeding tracker tool.
This class is for pregnant parents, partners, and anyone who has already had their baby. It is perfect for busy people who cannot make it to a live class. Parents should sign up during their fourth month of pregnancy and take the class after their fifth month.
The self-guided eClass takes 2-3 hours to complete and includes seven months of online access. Materials are available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin, German, French, Arabic, and Japanese.
The fee is $95, which covers two participants.
