OHSU Understanding Birth (Self-guided eClass)

This course is taught in Spanish

This self-paced online course prepares expectant parents for childbirth and early parenting. The comprehensive curriculum covers late pregnancy body changes, the signs and stages of labor, pain management options, potential complications, and postpartum recovery. Using videos, animations, games, and real birth stories, the class helps participants understand what to expect, guides them in creating a personalized birth plan, and highlights active ways partners can provide support.

This class is designed for expectant couples, individuals, and partners, particularly those unable to attend live classes due to busy schedules. Parents are encouraged to register during their fourth or fifth month of pregnancy to comfortably finish the material by their eighth month.

The self-guided eClass takes 4 to 6 hours to complete and includes seven months of online access. Materials are available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin, German, French, Arabic, and Japanese.

The fee is $140.00, which covers up to two participants.

To register, visit the OHSU Class Registration Page to log in or create a new account. Once the registration form and payment are completed, enrollment is official. Log-in instructions will be emailed within three days.
